About the Reader
Having spent time with younger guests has changed her thinking a lot. She encourages the younger generation, saying, ‘Don’t suffer in silence until you get sick, don’t hold back.’ She enjoys consultations that look at each person’s temperament and suggest which path suits them.
She is strict about prayer. In the past, many of her disciples prayed through the night on the mountain even in the rain, but these days the prayer grounds are empty. She says that a true mudang must seek out Sansin and Yongsin and pray directly to them.
To those struggling with spirit sickness, she says, ‘The spirits do not choose just anyone.’ She advises them to accept it rather than fear it.
